How to Draw a Landscape using Lines!

art tutorials Apr 05, 2021

How many different kinds of lines can you think of?

Vertical, horizontal, diagonal, zig-zag, squiggly, bouncy, twirly, curly, dotted, dashed…

There are so many to choose from!

In this draw-and-paint-along, artist and teacher Lili took us us up to the rolling hillside where every inch of land is covered in patterns, as far as the eye can see.

Lili first shared her tips on how to divide a page into 3 layers (foreground, middle ground and background).

Then she helped us understand what all the different types of lines are and what they’re used for.

Once we were done with the lines, we added lots of colour using watercolour paint.

The end result was a stunning landscape, picturesque enough to be framed and hung in any living room!

We had tons of fun drawing and painting together!

If you weren't able to join us live but still want to share in the fun, grab your art supplies and watch the video here:

What you’ll need:
