How to Teach Kids Perspective Drawing in A Fun and Interactive Way

art tutorials Apr 27, 2021

Have you ever thought about why people look sooooo tiny when they're far away, and then when they come closer they get bigger and bigger until they're the same size as you? That's what we call perspective!

In this draw-and-paint-along, artist and teacher Lili took us to a riverside village in Amsterdam where we got to create our very own perspective drawing!

Lili taught us how to use guidelines to create a vanishing point, how to make our objects 3D, and how to use perspective to create the illusion of depth and scale.

We had tons of fun painting together!

If you'd like to join in the fun, grab your art supplies and watch the video here:

What you’ll need:

  • Paper
  • Pencil
  • Black marker
  • Watercolour/tempera paint & paint brush

We'd love to see how your kids' projects turn out!
